A year in the life of Miss Hispanic SEAFAIR
Paula Ramirez - Miss
Hispanic SEAFAIR 2004
The Hispanic SEAFAIR Organization has allowed me to be part
of an amazing tradition that has been around for more than 25
years. As Miss Hispanic SEAFAIR 2004 I was privileged to be part
of one of the world’s top 10 festivals, SEAFAIR. It was one of
the best experiences that I have had in my life. I was able to
spend time and relate with other SEAFAIR princesses at parades,
events and activities that we did as a group. The SEAFAIR
festival was full of excitement with the help of the special
entertainment ranging from the SEAFAIR Clowns to the Blue
Angels. My SEAFAIR moments were shared with family and friends
as I represented the Hispanic Community with honor.

Besides the SEAFAIR Festival I also participated in the
Hispanic SEAFAIR Festival. We had great performers from the
Seattle area perform a variety of music and dance that
originated from South America and Mexico. My festivals
highlights were when I performed with the University of
Washington Mariachi band (Mariachi Quinto Sol) and when the
SEAFAIR Princesses attended our awesome event. That day was full
of energy and excitement...it was definitely one to remember!
That’s not all! As Miss Hispanic SEAFAIR I was also given the
opportunity to compete for International Queen of the Pacific at
Mazatlan's Carnaval Internacional, February of 2005. I was one
of the many ambassadors from the pacific region who went and
competed for this title. I was accompanied by Miss International
Queen of the Pacific 2004, Michelle Font, and two lovely
chaperones, Paulina Lopez-Peters (my sister) and Aida Font
(Michelle’s mother). These ladies helped me with just about
everything and I appreciate their comfort and patience while
Michelle and I rushed to be ready on time for events in Mazatlan.
Thank You ladies!

I am pleased to say that I did an excellent job in Mazatlan.
I greeted every person I met and I thanked all who participated
in the events at Mazatlan. I felt very confident in the various
events that I was involved in. Mazatlan was filled with joy and
happiness as children jumped for joy when they saw more than 100
floats at the parades. The people greeted us with such kindness
and they were anxious to see all the ambassadors from the
pacific region. I had the opportunity to meet some of the most
wonderful people in the world. I will always cherish these
moments and pass them on to future queens. As Miss Hispanic
SEAFAIR 2004 I am honored to say that I brought back, to the
Seattle Hispanic Community, the heart of Mazatlan! |
