SEAFAIR Coronation and Parade Photos:
Our Queen, Janette Armand made HSO History at the Miss SEAFAIR Scholarship Program for Women Coronation on Saturday July 28th. Just prior to the commencement of the SEAFAIR Torchlight Parade, the new Miss SEAFAIR and Royal Court was announced. FOR THE FIRST TIME in HSO History, Janette Armand was a close second to Miss SEAFAIR. She was announced as the 1st Runner up and received a $1000 scholarship award (in addition to her awards for Miss Congeniality and Best Public Speaker)! With her family, friends, director and other supporters in the grand stand she was sure to know we are all so proud of her! She has been a great example and I hope an inspiration to other Latinas in our community. Congratulations Janette! Keep up the good work!

The Hispanic SEAFAIR Organization (HSO) is a 501©(3), non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington. For over 26 years, HSO has celebrated Hispanic culture, and promoted opportunities and advancement for Hispanic women in our community. Although the scholarship program, at the moment, targets only Hispanic women, HSO is dedicated to emphasizing education as a fundamental goal for all Hispanics. Through our activities, partnerships, and festival we hope to educate the Hispanic community about opportunities and resources available to them, as well as the general public to the needs of our community and the benefits of diversity in the community.

Qwest Leadership Challenge™
Mission
To challenge high school football and women’s soccer student-athletes to inspire teammates, classmates and community members to better the communities in which they live using leadership skills and abilities.
*HSO is a non-profit organization and bases the
available scholarship award on participation form outside companies,
organizations, businesses and individuals. $5000 is an estimate of the
next scholarhip amount based on previous scholarship awards and funding.
